If the latest in Aussie reality TV has told us anything, it’s that competition runs in the Simpson family.
You might recall that Cody Simpson won the first season of Masked Singer Australia back in 2019 and now, his younger sister, actress and singer Alli Simpson has joined the cast of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2021. On the show, she’s stuck her head in toilets, had worms poured on her head and more all for her fellow camp-mates.Despite what you might think about how fake reality TV is, the 22-year-old Gold Coast influencer wants you to know her time on set in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, was nothing but “raw and vulnerable.”
“I cried a lot on the show and none of us are wearing makeup or had anything but the bare essentials, so I feel it’s going to be really good for Australia to see the more vulnerable side of me,” she confessed to Gold Coast Bulletin before her first appearance last Tuesday night.
“Instagram is not what it looks like to people and you don’t wake up looking glamorous. I think it’s important for people to know you aren’t always living the high life and that people can be dealing with internal and personal struggles.”
Though she’s only being on the show for a week, Alli has already found herself answering questions about her brother’s ex-relationship with Miley Cyrus, overcoming her fear of bugs and finding herself in a love triangle between her, comedian Ash Williams and former Bachelor star and Girlfriend fave Abbie Chatfield. Contrary to Ash Williams’s wishes, Alli Simpson is not single, nor is she dating her I’m A Celebrity co-star. Back in December, she shared an adorable matching white coordinating pic with her current partner, Queensland real estate agent Mitch Lambert.
Prior to her relationship with Lambert, the “Why I’m Single” singer was romantically linked to singer Conrad Sewell in 2017 to 2018.
Speaking to the Daily Mail after the split, Alli described the breakup as “a mutual thing. We were talking about it at dinner and it’s a difficult thing to have a relationship in the public eye. I don’t even know what the right thing to say is and how involved you want to get with the rest of the world.”
