From “Who killed Jason Blossom?” to “Should Jughead be asexual?” Cole Sprouse has no problem being hit with challenging Riverdale questions.
But don’t even think about asking “Are you a Betty or Veronica person?” The actor is REALLY over that question and for good reason too!
“The question we get all the time as a cast is, ‘Are you a Betty or Veronica person?’ I don’t like that,” he told Elle. “I think it’s hard and it also puts the cast members against one another in a strange and competitive way that makes me a little uncomfortable.”
Fair enough boo. And why should anyone have to choose between them anyway?! “Most of our cast don’t even answer it,” he added.
Cole also spoke about the show’s romantic relationships and his little confession about Betty just broke every Bughead shipper’s heart.
“I actually really ship Betty and Archie,” Cole dished. “When I would read the Archie comics when I was younger, I was rooting for Betty and Archie way over any alternative. [I think I would have seen] that long-lived, childlike romance from two people knowing each other since youth as probably quite romantic. I am a sucker for that childhood romance narrative.”
Nope. He did NOT just say that. You can’t mess with Bughead. No, won’t accept that.
