Taylor Swift returned to Sydney on Friday night (2nd, November) at ANZ stadium in a rainstorm to deliver one of her best shows ever.
Yep, only Miss. Swift can deliver in a storm and have 80,000 fans dance in the rain with her.
First up was opening acts, Broods and Charli XCX who kickstarted the stadium party before the weather took a dive.
After a near-hour delay due to an electrical storm, Taylor finally made her grand entrance.
Opening with the energetic “Ready For It?…’ fans knew they were in for an epic pop show.
Just like the album, Swift is darker and edgier this time around. From the snake theme to the more risque costumes, dark visuals and spooky props – everything has changed.
As her ultimate revenge anthem “Look What You Made Me Do” says “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now”.
It’s not all dark though with Swift sprinkling some of her light-hearted tunes throughout. This included a rainbow-lit performance of “Shake It Off”, a throwback to her catchy anthem “22” along with the more happier tunes on Reputation with “Delicate”, “Gorgeous” and closing banger “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”.
Unfortunately, Sydney fans although missed out an acoustic arrangement of “Dancing With Our Hands Ties” due to the storm delay.
A stand-out moment that will forever remain with fans is when Swift performs the menacing “I Did Something Bad”. Her vocals are highlighted here along with her ability to provide an exhilarating theatre-esque performance. What a woman!
Verdict: Taylor Swift never fails to amaze and the ‘Reputation Stadium Tour’ is no exception. In fact, it will go down as one of her most memorable shows down under with its robust production and added element of Mother Nature.
