Shay Mitchell is starring in a brand new TV show that we can guarantee will be your newest obsession.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Shay explained that her new show, You is basically Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl combined.
“It still has all those elements that PLL had with it being sort of a mystery, there’s a romance part to it and it’s just exciting,” Shay said. The story follows a bookstore manager, Joe (played by Penn Badgley), who comes across aspiring writer Beck and quickly becomes OBSESSED with her.
With the internet and social media, he manages to find out all the intimate details of her life in order to get closer to her.
“It’s definitely going to have those elements [as Gossip Girl and PLL],” Shay continued. “I think it’s a little bit more mature. It deals with a lot of crazy things like PLL did, but it’s a different storyline.”
“If you loved PLL, you’re gonna absolutely love You,” Shay said. “And if you never saw PLL, you’re still going to love You.”
