Despite being papped multiple times passionately kissing in public, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello refuse to publicly comment on the status of their relationship, even walking the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards separately.
After their HOT performance of chart-topping single Señorita at the VMA’s – where despite their obvious chemistry (and their nose boop) the pair refused to kiss – fans became desperate for some verbal confirmation.
Now, our favourite Canadian crooner was filmed chatting to fans backstage post-concert in Connecticut, where he took the time to address his relationship status.

In the vid, Mendes is asked by a fan if ‘he’s ever been in love before’ (props on the loaded question BTW), to which he replied: “Honestly, I want to talk to you guys about this stuff, because it’s not just me in the relationship, you know?
“There’s another person involved, and I can’t say things that I feel…. It’s not just me deciding, you know?”
The first thing to unpack here: Shawn definitely didn’t say no to the love question…could that mean these two have exchanged the ‘L-word’?
Secondly: Even though Shawn STILL didn’t mention the ex-Fifth Harmony member by name, it seems pretty obvious to everyone with a brain that Camila was the ‘other person’ he was referring too.
The couple has been plagued by doubters since the beginning, with a ton of people insisting they are ‘just a PR stunt’.
But after their VMA’s performance, it became trickier to deny how into each other these two cuties are.

Speaking with Cosmopolitan, body language expert Blanca Cobb, spilt the tea when it came to ‘Shamila’ and Blanco saw straight through the drama of ~performing~ and highlighted all the subtle movements that Camila and Shawn did that proved they’re really into one another.
“In any performance, there can be a little acting involved to make the moment feel dramatic,” Blanca said.
“But there are subtle nonverbal signals that indicate how you’re really feeling…and Shamila’s body language screamed attraction.”
YEAH IT DID.
