We already knew that Shawn Mendes was the sweetest person alive, but his latest move has just confirmed that.
During an interview with Channel Ten’s The Project, Shawn revealed that he reached out to rumoured ex-girlfriend Hailey Baldwin when he heard the news of her engagement to Justin Bieber.
“I texted Hailey the day of, and I said congrats,” he said. “That’s what it is. I think everybody wants there to be more — there’s not.”
Despite the fact that Hailey deleted all pictures of Shawn from her Instagram upon reuniting with Justin, Shawn is anything but bitter.
“I think that’s awesome,” he said of the couple’s reunion. “I love them both. They’re both really awesome people. When I first started out, everybody was like, ‘Oh, how do you feel about being compared to Justin?’ I was like, ‘What do you mean, how do I feel?’ That’s the best thing anyone could say to me. He’s the man. Bieber was a massive influence for me growing up.”
