Netflix has just announced the release date for Sex Education season two!

WATCH: Netflix announces Sex Education season two!

With new cast members being teased, as well as an inside look into season two, we can finally start the countdown on when we can binge-watch the entire second season.

The streaming service has ensured that we will kick off 2020 in the best way ever, as Sex Education will be released from January 17th!

“Get in losers,” Netflix tweeted with a photo of the cast. “The new term is starting. Sex Education s2 streaming 17 January 2020.”

Shortly after, they tweeted a photo of Adam (Connor Swindells) posing in front of a mural promoting the show. 

“Look at this naughty boy snapping our beautiful mural,” the post was captioned.

But the announcement didn’t end there. Netflix later live-streamed a video of the release date being painted onto that mural.

All your favourite returning cast members feature in the mural, including Adam, Aimee, Maeva, Otis, Eric, Otis’ mum Jean, Jackson, Lily and Ola. 

Three new cast membersViv, Rahim, and Isaac, also appear.

Netflix has described Viv (Chinenye Ezeudu), as a “super-intelligent, multi-talented academic student”. Rahim (Sami Outalbali) is a French hottie. Finally, Isaac (George Robinson) “creates waves when he moves into Maeve’s caravan park”.

What will ‘Sex Education’ season 2 be about? 

Netflix has given us a few clues when it comes to the plot of for season 2, recently releasing a whole slate of new pics from the upcoming season.  

“As a late bloomer, Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school, and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.”

“Maeve and Aimee’s (Aimee-Lou Wood) BFF relationship is stronger than ever since Aimee ditched The Untouchables,” Netflix continues.

Meanwhile: “Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) notices his newfound self-confidence attracting unfamiliar kinds of attention.

“Jean and Jakob’s (Mikael Persbrandt) relationship is discovered and they have to learn how to operate as a blended family.”

And, “Adam (Connor Swindells) is at military school, still conflicted by his feelings for Eric.”
