Last week, Netflix FINALLY announced when 13 Reasons Why would be returning to our screens, in a short clip posted online.
And it’s much sooner than we expected. May 18, which is only around the corner, will be the date that Clay, Hannah, Jess etc etc will be coming back to continue their stories.
Now, a full season trailer has dropped, and we are s h o o k.
“I though this was gonna be over,” Clay (Dylan Minnette) says at the start. “But it’s not.”
Hannah’s parents still fighting the school in court, and Clay is still on his warpath to make sure Bryce (Justin Prentice) is finally taken down for everything he has done.
In season 2, it’s evident that polaroids will be the new ‘tapes’, and each student is faced with their own haunting photographs that contain hints and clues of what’s to come. Clay uncovers a Polaroid that reads, “Hannah wasn’t the only one.”
It looks like Jessica (Alisha Boe) is facing what happened to her, with the words “Who would trust a drunk slut?” plastered around her.
And of course, we discover that Justin (Brandon Flynn) returns to town after fleeing at the end of season 1.

Creator and showrunner Brian Yorkey has spoken to The Hollywood Reporter about how the season will be more focussed on Jessica’s storyline.
“We look at the ways that sexual assault has been perpetrated over a number of years and has been in fact documented, and also the ways in which the institutions — the athletic department, the high school itself — are in some ways complicit in letting that happen,” he said to THR.
“When we first developed it, we had these discussions about whether it was realistic to think that serial sexual abuse could be kept secret by so many people for so long. Over the course of the summer, we watched events unfold in our culture that confirmed to us that yes, unfortunately, it is possible for severe sexual abuse at a very high, consistent level to be kept secret by many, many people, and for institutions to be complicit in it. So that’s very much a part of our story in season two, and we’re hoping that enters the conversation around the show, particularly because it is something that girls even at a very young age are dealing with in our culture, and it’s something that needs to change.”
