Calling all Disney fans – your fav Polynesian princess us back!
Hugely successful and heartwarming Disney flick Moana is reportedly getting a sequel and if this isn’t the best news we’ve heard since ‘Tom Holland returning as Spider-Man’, then we don’t know what is.
Moana was one of the most successful Disney animated movies ever made, and along with a truly amazing soundtrack, the storyline behind the film was probably one of the most potent in the ‘Disney Princess’ canon.
The first film went on to gross over $958 million and reveaice two Academy Award nominations, so yeah, people were stans.

For those who haven’t seen Moana – and if that’s the case then what are you doing reading this, go watch it RIGHT NOW – the movie is about the strong-willed daughter of a stubborn Polynesian chief.
When wildfire starts to die on her Island, Moana sails the ocean in search of Maui, hoping a demigod can help her return a relic to a goddess named Te Fiti, and thus save her people back home.
According to We Got This Covered, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho have both signed on to reprise their roles, and while the details surrounding the sequel’s plot remain scarce, the publication says the production house is keen to move ahead with film no. 2 now it’s stars are on board.
In more Disney related news, Frozen 2 has debuted a sneak peek of its new song “Into the Unknown” that is set to rival the success of “Let It Go”.
But can anything live up to that tune? Although, since it’s still Idina Menzel singing, we can only assume it will be just as amazing.
