We all know that Married At First Sight Australia MarthaKalifatidis, 30, and her groom Michael Brunelli, 27, are matched made in science heaven.
But in an exclusive interview with WHO, the brunette beauty dropped a bombshell.
Her hubby has hooked up with her best friend.
We read that one of your bridesmaids had dated Michael in the past. So is that legit?
Martha: That is legit. That is a true story.
Michael: Can I clarify that, please? That was a Tinder date, a one-off Tinder date. One date and that was it. We went our separate ways…
Was it awkward when you saw her at the wedding…
Michael: I was in shock. Because I knew her face from somewhere. It took me a little bit of time to realise exactly how I knew her. Martha became aware of the situation.
Martha: When we got home from the wedding, we were lying in bed, and saying, ‘We don’t really know one another.’ So I was like, ‘Let me show you some photos of me and my family.’ So we were on his phone, and he showed me a photo of him and his dad, and I basically dropped the phone, and was like, Oh my god. I have seen this photo, because you went on a date with my best friend. I was in shock. And it was all coming back to me, because they were texting, and I remember this photo. And I was just putting a face to the experience. I said immediately, ‘I am not fazed by it.’ It was one date. There was absolutely nothing…And it didnt’ bother me at all. Not even for a second. I actually thought it was quite hilarious…
And the awkwardness was over…
Martha – Oh, there was no awkwardness.
If Michael has dated a lot in the past, does that make you jealous?
Martha: No. Because we are adults. I am 30, and I have been single for so long. I have dated guys too! And sure, he’s dated heaps of women as well. I think the past is the past.
Michael: We are focussed on each other now in the present. What happened in the past – it stays in the past.
Martha: We both know we are grown, and we haven’t just come out of high school.
