Now that The Bachelor is over and Married At First Sight seems like a very distant nightmare, Australian audiences are yearning for their next reality TV fix – and Channel Nine is about to deliver.
Last week the Nine Network revealed that the incredibly messy-yet-amazing show Love Island is back yet again, and will be premiering on Monday, October 7.
The show was reportedly filmed in Queensland this year, and former Bachelorette Sophie Monk will stay on as host, as well as the show’s hilarious narrator, Irish comic Eoghan McDermott.

The news was revealed on September 16, via the show’s official Instagram page with the caption: “THIS IS NOT A DRILL!! Please try to remain calm while #LoveIslandAU makes its way to your screen.💜”
Unfortunately, MAFS star Jessika Power will not be joining the cast of Love Island, despite consistent rumours that she was set to shake things up this year.
Speaking to New Idea, the controversial reality TV star— who no doubt would’ve brought SO much drama to the dating series— said she’s too busy with other business ventures to return to our screens so soon after starring on MAFS.
“At the moment, I have so many amazing projects in the works that I want to focus on, so the possibility of more reality TV for me this year isn’t in my cards,” said Jess, who recently announced she’s split from fellow MAFS star, Nick Furphy.
But that doesn’t mean she won’t be tuning in!
“I can’t wait to watch! I hear they’ve got some VERY sexy bombshells coming to our TV screens!”
