Whether it’s an order that’s hours late or doesn’t show up at all, we’ve all dealt with food delivery frustrations at some point (first world problem, right!?)
When it happens, it’s always tempting to hop on social media to put the company on blast.
It seems even music superstar Lizzo isn’t immune to order mix-ups and she took to Twitter to vent about it.
Unfortunately for her, it backfired spectacularly when disgruntled fans absolutely came for her.
It all started when she wrote: “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more,” in a now-deleted Tweet.
Adding insult to injury, she also shared a screenshot of the app and a picture of the girl.
Postmates quickly responded to the Tweet, apologising and saying they’d look into the matter.
Naturally, many users made the joke that it turns out, Lizzo is actually 100% that snitch.
But others made the valid point that it could seem like she’s publically shaming the delivery driver and that she could lose her job.
In the meantime, a rep from Postmates confirmed that the matter had been resolved — adding that the food had been delivered to Lizzo’s address and they’d waited the standard 5 minutes but nobody answered.
To her credit, Lizzo quickly saw the errors of her way and apologised for misusing her large social media platform.
“I apologize for putting that girl on blast. I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger. Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door,” she said.
The good news is, it’s going to take a lot more for a little mishap like this for Lizzo to be cancelled. Long live the Queen!
