If there’s one thing the world needs more of in these scary times, it’s love.
And if there’s one guy who knows a thing or two about that 4-letter word, it’s Lauv!
The US music sensation has been writing songs about love and heartbreak since he was literally 14 years old.
Not only has he topped the charts with his own catchy tracks like I Like Me Better, he’s even penned love songs for the likes of Charli XCX and Demi Lovato.
So, to help give you some much needed good-vibes, we asked the one man boyband himself to answer some wholesome questions about love.
GF: What does love mean to you?
Lauv: Oh my God. Love. Well, it’s literally everything! There’s so much negativity in the world. Just showing appreciation, intimacy with people, vulnerability, which I think is the true definition of love. Not even just romantic love. It’s so important. That’s what’s going to keep us happy and together and alive and supportive and fulfilled. I think it’s everything.
GF: What is your all-time favourite love song?
Lauv: One of my favourite nostalgic and somewhat sad love songs is Magic by Coldplay. There’s something about that song. It’s just so haunting, but so beautiful.
GF: What’s your favourite romantic movie?
Lauv: Midnight in Paris. That movie is a classic to me.
GF: Who was your first celebrity crush?
Lauv: I was 14 or something, it was Miranda Cosgrove. In her ICarly days!
GF: What was your first heartbreak?
Lauv: I think it was right around the time I was making I Met You when I was 18, that was my first serious relationship. Painful. No matter what side you’re on, the person who is being broken up with or the person who’s breaking up with, I think it’s really hard on either side.
