YouTube and TikTok personality Joji Siwa is about to make her big movie debut in a film produced by Men In Black’s Will Smith.
Last month, the viral bubblegum pop Dance Moms teen celebrated her 17th birthday and revealed what she looks like underneath the iconic ponytail. And now, nearing the age of adulthood, she’s putting on another costume and playing something new.
According to Variety, Siwa will star in Bounce, a movie adaptation of Megan Shull’s book of the same name.
As Variety reports, Bounce is “a heartwarming story about a teenage girl who wishes she could trade her family for a new one on Christmas Eve. Her wish is granted and she finds herself “bouncing” into the lives of other girls and living Christmas Day on repeat—learning the value of family, finding your voice and the power of love.”
Paramount Studios only just got the rights to the book to film adaptation, and the team are on the hunt for a director. So, what with the COVID-19 pandemic, we don’t expect to see the film until next Christmas.
In an Instagram post screenshotting the Variety report, Siwa was practically jumping for joy at the news, adding, “ahhhhhhh I am so excited to announce I am starring in my first movie !!!!!!!!!!!⭐️💥”
Prior to Bounce, Jojo Siwa was credited as a voice in The Angry Birds Movie 2. The film marks her first non-animated feature film. Congrats Jojo!
