Troy Bolton (played by Zac Efron) has been giving us an unrealistic expectation of guys since High School Musical was released in 2006.
He has basically been our inspo for the PERFECT man and frankly if we’ve met a guy that can’t play basketball and doesn’t sing to us, we’d delete his number and block him on FB asap.
But BuzzFeed just realised a major detail about Troy’s relationship with Gabriella that proves that he wasn’t so perfect after all.
When you think about it, Troy and Gabriella were never *officially* together.
“Troy never actually asked Gabriella to be his girlfriend,” one fan pointed out.
“Omg I spent my childhood idolizing a situationship lmao my love life makes so much sense now,” another fan wrote.
A third fan tweeted: “Did Troy ask Gabriella out after they sang ‘Breaking Free’ or did they just know they liked each other & why didn’t Disney show this go down.”
