It’s been nearly four years since Glee ended, but those pesky rumours of a feud between former co-stars Lea Michele and Naya Rivera have continued.
In case you’re not familiar with this beef, let’s refresh!
These rumours began back in 2014 when insiders reported that Naya had been fired from the series after she apparently complained about Lea to the producers, with many media outlets reporting that her character Santana Lopez had been written out of the season five finale.

Naya’s representative at the time told the Hollywood Reporter that this was not true, saying: “Any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story.”
In that same year, Lea addressed the feud on the Late Show with David Letterman and denied any issue between the pair.
“It’s really unbelievable, the amount of things that can be just completely made up,” Lea said. “People like to pit women against each other, and it’s really annoying and really sad.”
But, Naya fanned the feud flame again in 2016 with the release of her memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing, when she wrote: “We are both strong willed and competitive – not just with each other but with everyone – and that’s not a good mixture.”
The 32-year-old revealed how the co-stars didn’t talk at all for the last season of Glee.
“As Santana moved from a background character to one with bigger plot lines and more screen time. I think Rachel – erm, I mean Lea – didn’t like sharing the spotlight,” she wrote. “If I’d complained about anyone or anything, she’d assumed I was bitching about her. Soon, she started to ignore me, and eventually it got to the point where she didn’t say a word to me for all of season 6.”
Fast forward to last week, when Naya finally put this feud to bed during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. The actress was asked about her relationship with Lea, after she liked a picture of Lea showing off her engagement ring on Instagram.
“I don’t think there was like any beef,” Naya said, adding: “It’s a good ring.”
So there you have it!
