The show, which follows John Green’s novel of the same name, is about Miles Halter (Charlie Plummer), as he moves from Florida to Alabama for his junior year of High School.

At his new school, he becomes friends with Chip Martin (Denny Love), Takumi Hikohito (Jay Lee), and DUH, Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth).

As expected, Miles becomes infatuated with Alaska.

The trailer begins with each character walking into the frame, with voiceovers saying one of the quotes from the novel, “That’s why I’m going: to start seeking a great perhaps”.

It ends with the four of them hanging in the woods, with Alaska asking, “Who’s up for some fun?”

The series is produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the masterminds behind iconic teen dramas The OC and Gossip Girl — so you know it’s going to be good! It’s been in the works for over a year now. What’s so fun about the series is that it is set in 2005, which is PEAK nostalgia.

“We worked really hard to make sure pretty much all the music that’s in the show is from that year,” Schwartz explained at the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour on July 26. “It was pretty fun — I got to pull out some of my O.C. playlists that I had back in the day, music that never made it onto the show. It was like revisiting moments.”

The series is set to premiere in the US in October on Hulu, so you’ll have to stay tuned to see where you can watch it in Australia.
