Fans petition for Shadowhunters to be saved

Earlier this week, it was announced that fan-fave show Shadowhunters was cancelled.

U.S. broadcasting channel Freeform announced that the show will be ending after its third season.

The show, which airs weekly on Netflix in Australia, will have two-hour series finale in 2019 to say goodbye once and for all.

But that’s just not good enough for fans, who are now petitioning to save the show.

This show is so different from others such as Stranger Things and Game of Thrones where people watch it for the amusement.People watch Shadowhunters because it impacts us as individuals and helps us learn about ourselves. Shadowhunters just isn’t like the rest. #saveshadohwunters

Karey Burke, EVP, Programming and Development at Freeform, told Deadline that the decision was “purely economic.”

“We went back and forth with them but ultimately we just couldn’t make the economics work,” she explained. “We were very happy creatively with it.”

It’s not unlikely for shows to be picked up by other networks when fans show enough support, so fingers crossed fam!!
