Fans notice a major issue in ‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’

Did Ryan Murphy forget the ending of 'Hotel'?

American Horror Story: Apocalypse is only two episodes in, but fans are already going HAM for the conspiracy theories.

But aside from the theories, there is also an ‘error’ that fans have picked up on.

The problem is that the world has ‘ended’ two years before the end of AHS: Hotel, which was shown to exist in 2022.

Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator, explained a while back that Apocalypse would be set in the near future, around 18 months from “now.”

In the second episode of the season, fans noticed a small detail on Michael Langdon’s laptop. Emily and Timothy go rifling through his emails, and you can read the date on the screen.

The month and year the show is set in is October 2021.

.

The date of the emails makes sense with the 18-month time, BUT… fans point out that it makes a big error in the total AHS timeline because of Hotel.

In 2016, Hotel ended with Sarah Paulson’s character Billie Dean Howard filming episodes of her TV show on Devil’s Night… which took place on October 30th… 2022.

So the AHS universe still exists in 2022, how then could the world have ‘ended’ in 2019?

Fans have obviously to Twitter to call out the error, however, it’s important to remember that we’ve only seen two episodes so far, and what we have seen might not be ~real~ yet.

Ryan has previously stated that episode 5 of this season will show a HUGE twist, so we might have to wait ’til then for some answers.

“It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five,” he explained.

What’s interesting is that episode 6 is called “Return To Murder House” which, as we already know, doesn’t really exist anymore because of the nuclear blast.
