If, like us, you’ve been overwhelmed with emotions after watching Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why series finale earlier this month, then know we’re not alone. Dylan Minnette misses it, too. So much so, infact, that he already has an idea of how the show could carry on for a fifth season.

In an interview with Variety, the Wallows singer opened up about his experience on the final season of the Selena Gomez-produced Netflix TV series, and shared a topical idea for a new season.

In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic that’s now infected over 10million people, Minnette suggested that Clay is most likely quarantining in Evergreen County with his parents, haunted by ghost versions of the show’s deceased characters like Hannah (Katherine Langford), Bryce (Justin Prentice), Montgomery (Timothy Granaderos) and, sadly, after season four, Justin (Brandon Flynn).

“It’s all set in one room” Minnette joked. “Damn, actually we should have done this.”

The final shot of 13 Reasons Why saw Clay and his best friend Tony driving off into the sunset after the tragic death of his adopted brother Justin Foley. According to Cosmopolitan, the showrunners have no plan to continue on for a fifth season after admitting that a high school series shouldn’t be longer than actual high school. Although, that begs the question: what if season five had the cast at college?
