If you like really attractive men and are a fan of Stranger Things, then this one’s for you hun.
Australia’s very own babe™ Dacre Montgomery managed to score a role on one of the most popular shows in the world RN, and lucky us got to chat with him about it.
Oh, and if he seems totally familiar, it’s because you perved on him in Power Rangers.

Okay… carrying on…
Were you a Stranger Things fan when it first came out?
“Oh yeah totally, I mean I watched it in July last year in Sydney in one night with a mate and we had a great time. It’s kind of amazing that I’m part of it now.”
So we weren’t the only ones who binged it in a mere day, fantastic.
Tell us the feeling you got when you found out you landed a role on one of the biggest TV shows right now?
“It’s a crazy sequence of events! I was at home in Perth in Western Australia and I got an email from my team saying that there was a guest starring role available in Stranger Things.
“So, I hurriedly put together a short film. I wrote an opening score, title credits and a soundtrack… and the next day I got a call that the Duffer’s [The Duffer Brothers – show creators] wanted to start on the Sunday… I the got a phone call on the Monday offering me the role.
“I’m super fortunate, super lucky. I really didn’t take it for granted and I worked hard, and yeah, I’m excited and nervous about how it is all going to come together.”
So are we babes.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what he did in the film, he danced around in a g-string to “Hungry Like The Wolf.” Amazing.
Did you have to keep it a secret? Was it hard?
“Yeah I mean obviously I had to keep it under wraps. But it’s just amazing; it’s such a collaborative process. The cast have been so inviting and encouraging, also bringing me into that world and that super fandom. Its so cool being able to do that as a newcomer, that I was and am still… so I’ve learned a lot.”
Tell us about the role you play on the show? Who is Billy?
“I play Billy. So, Stephen King has this concept of humans being scarier than the supernatural, and the Duffer Brothers wanted to play around with that. So we meet initially and in the first half I am a stereotypical jock character, but in the second half I’m deeper.
“He was a great character to play around with and heavily oriented around Jack [Torrance] from The Shining with his unpredictable nature. I hope the audience connects to that.”
Do you interact more with the kids or are you on the older spectrum with Joe Keerey and Natalia Dyer?
“Joe, Natalie and Charlie are sort of who I operate with a lot… and the kids.”
You’ve obviously spent quite a bit of time with the cast… are the kids just as cool IRL as they are on screen?
“They’re incredibly humble and down to earth and I love it. Even after everything from season one.
“I love working with them. Their families that surround them and come with them everywhere are incredible.”
If you could give us ONE spoiler, what would it be? We know that Eleven is alive from the trailer so…?
“All I can say without giving too much away is that the second season, the narrative has progressed. There are a lot more supernatural elements.
“We still have all the heart from the first season, so we’re not just making it some mainstream show just because it became so popular. We’re really sticking to what the Duffer brothers did in the first season, just making it more elaborate and more engaging.”
How has your life changed since getting the role?
“It’s been good, I feel like I’ve remained very humble. I bring my friends with me wherever I go. I feel extremely happy that I get to do what I love. I get to travel the world with my friends who are the cast, and my other friends back home from Perth. Whenever I’m not working I’m back home in Perth. I get to do what I love and there’s nothing better than that.
“Stranger Things I hope will put me in a place where I can have a long and successful career surrounded by other people and artists that I love, which is what I’m doing right now.”
What are your plans now career wise? Are you working on anything new?
“Power Rangers was my first project, Stranger Things my second… and now my third is my very first Australian project, which I can’t announce yet, but I start shooting next year and I’m very excited about that. Just like I’m excited that I get to do press in Australia for the first time, I’m also exited to work in Australia on screen.
