Brett Moore was strangely defensive when asked if he was single on last night’s premiere episode of Bachelor In Paradise.
It was incredibly odd, considering the whole premise of the show is that single people are dropped into a Hunger Games-style island situation to ‘find love.’
The Perth native – who was best known for wearing a nose ring on Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelor and not much else – snapped at producers in his to-camera interview.
After Tara was heard saying to other contestants “but he’s dating my friend,” the producers asked Brett: “And just to kind of get some clarity on it, you don’t actually have a girlfriend?”
So who is Brett dating? As it turns out, it’s Stephanie Boulton from Matty J’s season of The Bachelor.
It appears the couple have been together for several months, making their social media debut way back in September 2017 before the show began filming.
Whether or not they “took a break,” they are certainly back together right now.
On Valentine’s Day, Stephanie shared a loved-up gallery post on Instagram, simply captioning her post with a rose and love heart emoji. Brett’s Instagram page, which has currently been switched to private, was also filled with photos of the pair.
According to TV Week, Brett and Steph were both approached to do Bachelor In Paradise and decided to ‘split’ for the sake of being on the show.
“Brett told me that he was seeing someone outside of Paradise, but it wasn’t that serious,” contestant Florence told the publication. “Brett got the call to appear on the show and he said yes, then Stephanie got the call and said yes too.”
Florence continued: “They both agreed they weren’t officially together and agreed to do it to see what happens. It’s not fair to other people.”
The drama will continue in tonight’s episode, with Tara being accused of “protecting” Brett from being exposed.
Get keen, pals!
