Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Cody Simpson are no stranger to using their time in quarantine to make some #content. As well as her informal Instagram Live show Bright Minded, Cyrus has been making some super cute videos featuring her Aussie beau. Their latest effort? A TikTok dance video featuring cheesy dance moves and a little blue bikini that’s got us wishing for summer.
If they tune is now stuck in your head and you *need* to add it to your good vibes Spotify playlist, the couple were dancing to C+C Music Factory’s 1990 song, “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).”
“If we can’t get back to work….. let’s get back to WERK @codysimpson,” Miley wrote.
The couple were all smiles—as they have been in previously dance videos and a video where Cyrus did Simpson’s makeup.
It’s also nice to see Miley feeling more confident. She revealed back in March that criticism of her body had made her too insecure to wear a bikini for years.
“I basically went through two or three years where I wouldn’t wear shorts. I stopped wearing skirts on stage, all this sh*t because after the VMAs and I had on my cute little nude bodysuit, everyone started comparing me to a turkey and putting a turkey in my outfit,” Cyrus said in an Instagram live with Demi Lovato.
“I was just so skinny and so pasty and they kept putting me next to this turkey, and I was feeling so bad on myself that I did not wear a bikini for like two years.”
“No one thought that that would’ve ever made me feel some type of way,” Cyrus added. “It was just really, really hurtful to be so body-shamed like that. And it really affected me in my personal life.”
While it looks like Cyrus is back on 🔝 now, it just goes to show that no matter what you look like, some people will always feel the need to pass judgement on women’s bodies. It’s 1. rude and 2. wildly unnecessary.
Brb, learning this dance and playing this body-positive TikTok by Lizzo on repeat.
