Beauty power couples

Like Zayn and Gigi, your couch and Netflix, some things were just made for each other. Check out these one true pairings…

Mascara and a statement lipstick

Nothing says effortless ‘I woke up like this’ glam like a swipe of mascara, a bold lip and a pretty party dress, which is probably why our makeup bags have been shipping this duo since forever. Deep reds, bright berries and 2017-approved borderline black glosses generally favour a slick of mascara over smoky, bright and glittery lids; eye dramz + lip dramz = too many dramz.

Foundation and Primer

We’re all about that base, but we’re also all about that base’s base! If you want your foundation/tinted moisturiser/ BB cream to love you long time, setting it up with a primer (#couplegoals) is ALWAYS a good idea. Adding a layer between your skin and coverage not only hydrates, strengthens and ups your complexion’s dewy factor, but it helps your makeup last even longer. Best. Duo. Ever.

Highlighter and Bronzer

These lovebirds are super fun on their own, not just together. It’s just when they’re in the same room (or on the same face), it’s next level YAAAS! A highlighter plus bronzer combo screams ‘summer is coming!’ even if you’re minus a fake tan/night’s sleep. We heart the WOW this couple brings, no matter how chill your eyes or lips. Hot tip: apply your bronzer in a number three shape (forehead, cheeks, then down to chin), with a slick of highlighter on your cheekbones to finish.

Exfoliator and fake tan

Exfoliator and fake tan sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g…’ If these guys chucked a Selena Gomez and The Weeknd (read: broke up), our sad face emoji count would be at an all-time high, because not scrubbing away any dead skin pre-tan means coming out patchy and streaky (NOT cools). Before application, use a body (and face) exfoliator, wash off, pat dry and glow for it. And when your tan is coming to the end of its life? This same scrub will strip it right back.

Oil cleanser and regular cleanser

Double cleansing is where it’s at (and by ‘at’ we mean clean, fresh, unclogged skin). After drying your skin or hands with a dry cloth, apply a targeted face oil pre-regular cleanse to remove any makeup, SPF or grime build-up. Follow with a regular cleanse and rinse with your foam, gel or creambased guy. Using the two will do double the clean job – step 1) goodbye grime, and step 2) hello deeper, all-over clean.
