Purses are indeed cute, handbags are chic, and canvas bags are edgy but let’s be honest, it’s the handy backpack that saves the day in the end.

Buying a backpack is surprisingly a personal decision because it’s important to choose one that suits your needs and ideal aesthetic.
When searching for your perfect fit, the first thing that must be considered is what types of items your bag will need to hold: Do you have a laptop that needs special protective padding? Are you a big snacker who wants to stuff as many in as possible? Do you play sport or dance and need to pack your uniform?
We all lead busy lives that are jammed pack with activities, and it’s great when you’re prepared to face the day with everything you may need neatly packed in a handy backpack.
Let’s face it; school bags are just NOT IT! They are bulky, they are ugly and worst of all, they tell the world exactly where you draw flowers in your notebook every weekday.
Of course, most schools have strict rules about using the uniform bag, but in your life beyond the books, you have the freedom to choose whatever patterned, cartoon-themed, bright, or sequinned backpack you like.
There are really no bounds to how you can style your backpack. There is no wrong choice from adding trinkets and stickers to using glitter glue pens to write quotes – your creativity can run wild.
Because, unlike purses and handbags that are ideally kept in good condition, so they look nice at dinner and other events, backpacks offer you more freedom to express yourself and indulge in the tackier parts of your style.
It’s also okay if you prefer to keep your backpack neat and professional so you can carry it to work, and so you can continue using it for your first year as a university student (but fret not, if you like your stickers and glitter, no one at uni will care).
