If you haven’t heard the name Olivia Rodrigo within the past few months, we can only assume you’ve given up on society and gone to live in a cave somewhere.

We don’t blame you, it can be tempting at times… but not tempting enough to make us part from listening to Olivia’s album Sour over and over and over again.

We mean, why would we when it just made history?

It is officially Olivia’s music industry and we’re just living in it. And we’re loving every second.

On Wednesday, Billboard announced that the singer-songwriter’s first body of work had reached a milestone that no artist before her is yet to achieve.

@Olivia_Rodrigo has three songs in the top 10 of this week’s #Hot100. She becomes the first artist in history to chart three concurrent songs in the top 10 all from a first LP,” Billboard tweeted.

Olivia herself was delighted by the news, quote tweeting the announcement with a message of shock and gratitude for her fans, “insane! thank u guys so so much for listening”.

But this isn’t the first record Olivia has broken… and we doubt it will be her last.

In case you’re one of those cave dwellers we discussed, Olivia Rodrigo is an 18-year-old American actor and musician best known for her role in Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (that name gives off major – trying to reach the word count in an assignment vibes).

True fans also know that Olivia starred in Disney’s Bizaardvark very early in her career along with controversial YouTuber Jake Paul.

But it is Liv’s music career that has really made her a rising star in the entertainment industry, with the teenager continuing to break records.

Her debut album, Sour, was released on May 21st this year. It immediately hit the top of the Rolling Stone album chart where it stayed for a week. With 302,100 total album-equivalent units, the record earned its place as the biggest debut album of the year so far.

The accolade, however, was perhaps bitter-sweet for Olivia as it beat that of her idol’s, Taylor Swift, for her re-release of Fearless.

Though, we doubt Taylor would care, she has publicly supported Olivia on numerous occasions now, even commenting “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud,” on Olivia’s Instagram where the musician showcased her debut song Driver’s License sitting in the charts alongside two of Taylor’s Evermore tracks.

Needless to say, self-proclaimed massive Swiftie Olivia freaked out at Taylor’s acknowledgement, replying “crying like a baby! thank you for everything u do!!!!!!!”.

The teenager is such a fan that she even incorporated one of Tay Tay’s tunes, New Year’s Day, into her song 1 step forward, 3 steps back.

And it seems that’s not the only inspiration Olivia has taken from Taylor, with the 18-year-old including many a Swift-esque Easter Egg into her music career.

We all know Taylor Swift is the queen of hidden details, and it’s clear that Liv has taken a leaf out of her role model’s book.

Indeed, fans retrospectively noticed that in a promo shot for her second single, Deja Vu, Olivia had sneakily teased the release of her third single, Good 4 U.

After the teenager shared a photo to Instagram of an ice cream van with the words “deja vu ice cream is good 4 u” plastered on its side, fans took a little while to pick up on the teaser.

“Deja vu & good for you Easter egg 😭😭😭 how did I not see that?!? Taylor taught her well 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽”, one user wrote.

But now that fans have realised Olivia has attended the ‘Taylor Swift class of hints’, they’re determined not to miss a beat. That is why there is so much speculation as to what’s next for the songwriter’s career. And one fan theory is particularly gripping, indeed.

After Olivia collaborated with confectionery company Sour Patch Kids, fans everywhere were pointing out the brand’s slogan and how it could hint towards the musician’s next album.

“Sour then sweet” were the words written on the box next to Olivia’s face, causing inquisitive minds to question whether the artist is following up her angsty record with a B-side of unreleased love songs penned for her ex-boyfriend Joshua Bassett.

Oh yeah Josh… we almost forgot. He’s the 20-year-old actor and singer also starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Joshua and Olivia were a rumoured couple around the time they were filming for the Disney+ show. The pair, however, reportedly split and Joshua was soon after spotted hanging around with fellow actor and musician Sabrina Carpenter.

After Olivia released Driver’s License, in which she sang the line “you’re probably with that blonde girl, who always made me doubt”, fans were quick to point the finger at blonde-haired Sabrina.

Since the record flew to the top of the charts, not to mention consumed our TikTok for you pages, there’s been a series of songs released from all three parties which have sent fans into Sherlock-level detection mode to decipher how each lyric relates to each star.

We did a much more in-depth investigation into everything that went on between the two right here, because, trust us, there’s a looooot to unpack.

But, for now, all we can say is… with her spades of talent, heartbreak to boot and a teacher like Taylor Swift, we can guarantee Olivia’s got a lot more records to break in her career.
