OK, fess up. Who manifested Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s relationship?

It’s the celebrity pairing no one could have predicted – right up there with Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde and John Mulaney and Olivia Munn. Nevertheless, crazier things have happened.
So when exactly did this relationship begin? How did it go from platonic to romantic? What has Kanye West’s reaction been? And what is currently going on between the stars?
We could go into heavy detail… and we will.
October 2021
It all started when Kim hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live – AKA Pete’s stomping ground.
She and the comedian appeared in an Aladdin inspired sketch together with Pete in the titular role and Kim as Princess Jasmine. At the end of the bit, the pair shared a sweet kiss. Just actors being actors.
But clearly the chemistry was like 📈📈📈 because they were soon spotted hanging out right before Halloween.
On Friday October 29th 2021, Kim and Pete visited the Knott’s Berry Farm theme park in California (call us when you’ve been to Movie World guys. Sincerely, Australia x).
The pair were accompanied by a group of friends and family, including now engaged couple Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.
Things got interesting when Kim and Pete were pictured holding hands while on one of the rides.
It was initially reported that the celebs were simply friends (*frantically deletes fanfiction*).
“They hang in the same circles so they will be together from time to time,” a source told PEOPLE magazine. “It’s just friends hanging out.”
However!☝️ A different insider soon told Us Weekly that “no one really knows what’s going on” between the celebrities, but that “things could turn romantic” (*frantically re-writes fanfiction*).
And yet another source told the same publication that the KUWTK star was “surprised” by the amount of chemistry she and Pete have. Yeah… that makes two of us, babes.

November 2021
After that, Pete and Kim were captured wearing matching SKIMS pyjamas. Get you a man that’s down to rep your brand 😍.
December 2021.
In December, the pair were spotted in Pete’s hometown of Staten Island, along with Kourtney Kardashian’s ex Scott Disick, catching a movie, as well as visiting an Italian restaurant called Angelina’s.
The official Angelina’s Restaurant Instagram (@angelinas_ristorante) shared a snap of the duo, thanking them visiting.
“Thank you Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Scott Disick & others for having dinner at Angelina’s last night. Truly great to serve, come back anytime. @kimkardashian @letthelordbewithyou,” the caption read.
February 2022
Pete certainly got fans talking during an interview with PEOPLE about his Super Bowl commercial.
When the interview asked Pete for a ✨ room tour ✨, the comedian explained he was in the process of moving – hence why he had a bunch of random items splayed around the premises.
Among the knick knacks were flower pillows, stuffed animals, and a celebrity candle of Kim Kardashian. As you should, King.
When asked how he was dealing with being pushed further into the spotlight, Pete explained that he didn’t get swept up with fame, revealing that he kept things low-key while hanging with his friends… and girlfriend.
“I don’t have Instagram or Twitter of any of that stuff,” the actor said. “So, most of my daily life is getting into cars and showing up to a set. Or, if I’m off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside.”

Then, it was Kim’s turn to talk about Pete.
In a profile with VARIETY to promote her upcoming Hulu show The Kardashians, the reality star was asked whether or not her boyfriend Pete would appear in the series.
“I have not filmed with him,” she confirmed, before adding she wasn’t “opposed to it”.
“It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to get away. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season.”
Despite this, Kim did reveal that she will be sharing details about her and Pete’s relationship. According to the SKIMs owner, she will address: “how we met and who reached out to who and how it happened and all the details that everyone wants to know. I’m definitely open to talking, and I definitely explain it.”
In the same profile, Kim touched on her very public divorce with Kanye (Ye) West, saying that she doesn’t think she will ever “criticise the father of (her) children” on the show.
“I’m always really respectful of what the kids will see,” she said. “The reality is, we’re always a family. We always will have a love and respect for each other. And even if there’s moments where it might not seem like that, there are so many moments that are super positive. I do think it’s important for people to see that things aren’t perfect all the time, but that they can get better.”
March 2022
For context, in February 2022, Ye went on numerous Instagram tirades (more on that here) in which he called Pete Davidson ‘Skete’ and later dropped two music videos, for his song Eazy, depicting claymation and animated figures (with a large resemblance to Pete) getting attacked.
The song even contains the lyric: “God saved me from that crash / Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.” Paul McCartney could never.
Kanye, who suffers from Bipolar disorder. didn’t limit his rants to Pete, also taking aim at Billie Eilish, Kid Cudi, and Kim Kardashian. In March, Ye posted a video to his Insta calling out Kim for allowing their eldest daughter North to post TikTok videos.
Following this, alleged texts between Pete and Ye were leaked by Page Six in which the comedian told Ye to “grow the f*** up”.
“Yo it’s Skete. Can you please take a second and calm down. It’s 8am and it don’t gotta be like this,” Pete reportedly texted Ye in messages shared (and deleted) by SNL guest writer Dave Sirus.
“Kim is literally the best mother I’ve ever met. What she does for those kids is amazing and you are so f***ing lucky that she’s your kids mom. I’ve decided im not gonna let you treat us this way anymore and I’m done being quiet. Grow the f**k up.”
According to the screenshots, Ye went on to enquire about Pete’s location, at which point the actor replied with a shirtless selfie, writing: “In bed with your wife.”
Pete then suggested he and Ye meet up, adding that the rapper doesn’t scare him.
“Your actions are so p***y and embarrassing. It’s so sad to watch you ruin ur legacy on the daily.”
The comedian, who struggles with mental health issues himself, then offered to help the Donda singer.
“It’s not an easy journey, you don’t have to feel this way anymore. There’s no shame in having a little help. You’ll be so happy and at peace.
“I have your back even though you treat me like s*** because I want everything to be smooth. But if you continue to press me like you have for the past 6 months I’m gonna stop being so nice.”
While Page Six attests that the messages are real, there has not been a confirmation from Pete, Ye or Kim.
