U.S. presidential candidate and Yeezy rapper Kanye West has apologised to his wife Kim Kardashian West for a series of serious comments he made about her over the last week. Well, one of them at least.
In case you missed it, last week, West made a series of—now deleted—tweets claiming that Kim and his mother-in-law Kris Jenner were calling a doctor to their ranch in Wyoming and trying to “lock me up.” In the same series of tweets, he claimed that Get Out, Jordan Peele’s horror-thriller about a white family who abduct and experiment on Black people to become their mindless slaves, was about him.
Then, at his first campaign rally, he declared to a room of hundreds that when Kim was first pregnant with daughter North, 7, the pair allegedly considered getting an abortion. This bit of info was shared without Kim’s permission, leading her to be reportedly “furious” and concerned about the impact it could have on their four children—North; Saint, 4; Chicago, 2; and Psalm, 14 months.
“I would like to apologise to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter,” he wrote in a public statement on Twitter. “I did not cover her like she has covered me.”
“To Kim, I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me. Thank you for always being there for me.”
According to US Weekly, the “Jesus Walks” artist was allegedly spotted visiting a hospital after “experiencing a lot of anxiety lately,” and just hours after his Twitter apology.
“Kanye decided to go to the hospital to get checked out,” an inside source told US Weekly. “Upon his arrival, Kanye decided he’d rather be seen at home.”
“He headed back to his home—an ambulance followed. Kanye was treated and his doctor says his vitals are normal. He’s feeling much better.”
Despite alleged reports the two had been considering a divorce “for a long period of time,” JustJared reports that when Kim was seen for the first time since West’s apology, she was still wearing her wedding ring.
Last week, reality TV star Blac Chyna supported Kanye West’s recent tweets and criticised people who were labelling his recent mental health breakdown as “crazy.” And, Kim shared an earnest letter on Instagram Stories about her husband and his recent struggles with his experience with Bipolar disorder.
