Joey King is officially engaged so we guess it’s time to rewatch The Kissing Booth franchise in celebration.

The actress took to her Instagram to announce the exciting news on Wednesday, sharing a series of professional photos featuring her sparkling engagement ring and loved-up shots with her fiancé Steven Piet.
“I never knew that a persons presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so unquestionably beautiful. I never knew until you.”

The Act star went on to dish details about the proposal, writing: “The date was 2/2/22 when you asked me to marry you and made me the luckiest lady alive.
“I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Hanging out with you forever sounds like a real dream, so let’s do it.”
Joey has been dating producer and writer Steven since 2019. He also took to his personal Instagram to share details of the engagement.
“The weather was less than perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend a lifetime together. A lifetime of incredibly safe and vulnerable conversations. Holding hands on silent cab rides home, exhausted from great food and red wine. And oh, the laughter. The uncontrollable laughter.
“You’ve unlocked a dimension of love in me that I never knew existed.”
All we can say is, that’s much better than literally anything Noah Flynn said on TKB.
Joey first gained notoriety after starring in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth franchise alongside her ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi. The couple called it quits a few months before having to film the sequel, but remained as professional as ever.
The actress has previously *subtly* revealed how working with Jacob was a “sacrifice” she had to make for the films.
“I’m a fan with how it resonated with the world, it resonated with me,” she said on the Mood With Lauren Elizabeth podcast. “So going back and doing that and making the sacrifice of what, obviously, everyone is thinking about — outwardly addressing, but what I’m kind of on the sly addressing, making those sacrifices was totally worth it.”
So, all the Elle and Noah shippers can rest assured that, on-screen, their love story can thrive. But, off-screen, we’re shipping Joey and Steven. Congrats to the couple!
