Much like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner who recently became parents to a lil baby called Willa, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have kept their pregnancy journey verrrry private.
While the couple didn’t share much of their relationship on social media to begin with, neither has posted any images of each other on their profiles since the baby news first broke back in April. Hadid’s just decided to shake that up and has shared a super sweet couple photo of them kissing to her Instagram.
The pic is a very public PDA, given Hadid’s fifty-five million followers, and she captioned the grainy photo “baby daddy” with a smiley emoji. Gahhh, our hearts! 🥰
Hadid has explained that as well as protecting her and her (growing!) family’s privacy that one of the reasons she’s not been sharing many updates is because of what else is happening in the world at the moment.
“Obviously I think a lot of people are confused why I’m not sharing more but, I’m pregnant through a pandemic, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world.”
Hadid also noted that as well as the pandemic, the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement should also be taking precedence on social media. “That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that.”
While Zayn has never publicly addressed the pregnancy with his model girlfriend, according to reports the singer “couldn’t be more thrilled.” He has, however, finally broken his social media silence to post one (1) selfie.
The selfie appears to be from Eid al-Adha, as Malik is wearing a small amount of kohl smudged around his waterlines. Eid is a Muslim celebration and according to one Twitter user, the adornment is called ‘surma’: “we Muslims put in on Eids [sic] and other occasions.”
No word yet as to how the One Direction fandom is addressing their king giving them nothing about the One Direction ten year anniversary. Tbf, he looks pretty busy with Hadid. 🤷♀️
