Modern Family has been a light-hearted comedy that continuously makes viewers laugh. However, it's about to make them cry - a lot.
Someone is getting killed off.
Series co-creator Christopher Lloyd revealed the shocking news to EW last week, saying that, "We’re handling some bigger life events in this season. We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it."
He continued to say that the death involves a "significant character on the series" and that their passing "will be a moving event — and an event that has repercussions across several episodes."
One cast member who got extremely nervous over the news was Sarah Hyland, who plays Haley Dunphy on the show.
"Is this how actors on @GameOfThrones & @WalkingDead_AMC feel?!?!" she wrote on Twitter.
Some fans quickly assured her that they probably won't kill Haley off...
"I can’t think of a character I’m okay with losing. Maybe Shelly [sic] Long, she’s not on much!" one fan wrote.
