The episode aired today in the United States, confirming that the big reveal was Delia 'DeDe' Pritchett (Shelley Long), Jay Pritchett's ex-wife, and Claire Dunphy's mother.
To say the least, fans were really disappointed, mainly because she has only appeared in seven episodes. The show has 214 episodes to date.
The show declared her as a “beloved” character on social media today, however, DeDe has only been shown as aggressive, manipulative and inappropriate during her time on the show.
The show has teased the death to be pretty "significant" so now, fans are questioning their decision.
