Sarah Hyland revealed the 'Modern Family' death wasn't the big shock coming
We’re pretty sure that everyone was disappointed when Modern Family revealed which character died in their Halloween episode after months of speculation.
Spoiler alert: it was Dede Pritchett, played by Shelley Long – Jay’s ex-wife and the mother of Claire and Mitchell. Yawn.
But, Sarah Hyland (who plays Haley Dunphy) has hinted that something bigger is coming for the family.
“There’s a major thing happening this season. It’s beyond,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Sarah teased that this ‘thing’ is “big” and “I think you’ll be surprised.”
Apparently the event, which Sarah describes as a “bigger thing than the death” could have ramifications for her character.
“It was a shock, that’s for sure,” she said. “There’s a lot happening with Haley, but I can’t say.”
The 27-year-old wouldn’t give anymore details but she did reveal that she hopes that Haley has grown up by the series finale.
"I think it's about five years past her time,” she said.
Could this something big mean a baby is on the horizon for Haley?! It would defs force her to grow up and face her responsibilities. Who knows!
