All our love goes out to Zayn Malik and his family today after the horrifying news broke that his 5-year-old cousin Arshiya Malik has passed away after battling a brain tumour for years.
Zayn has yet to make any public comments about the tragedy, although his aunt and sister have both posted tributes.
Waliyha Malik, his sister, posted a photo on Instagram, captioned: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un Rest in peace you beautiful princess, may Allah grant you highest rank of jannah ✨.”
Zayn’s aunt Zileh Malik, who is Arshiya’s mother posted this on her Instagram, confirming her daughters death.
“An angel wrote in the book of life my baby’s date of birth, then whispered as she closed the book… ‘Too beautiful for earth’ R.I.P baby doll.. ❤️🙏🏽 #keeparshiyainyourduas.”
Back in 2004, Daily Mail reported on Arshiya’s condition when another cousin, Aaroosa Malik revealed to the site that doctors were unable to do anything more to help her.
“Doctors have given up on Arshiya but she is still fighting brave like a soldier. Can everyone please pray for her and anyone out there with a medical background or any doctor who thinks they can help please get in touch if possible… They operated on her twice. She hasn’t come round since. They thought she was brain dead but she’s not.”
The news is absolutely heartbreaking, and we wish all the best to Arshiya and Zayn’s family during this hard time.
