Neither Tom nor Disney have addressed the rumours, so let’s hope their silence is a hint that it could be true.

However, if Tom Holland doesn’t get the role, some may suggest that Disney alum Cole Sprouse was made for it.

We rest our case.

Tom (or Cole/whoever is eventually cast) would be joining the growing list of new-age Disney stars that have signed on to live-action remakes. Just recently, actress Halle Bailey was confirmed to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid remake.

Director Rob Marshall had her pegged for the role since the beginning, according to sources.

Rob said in an official statement: “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”

This marks the third member to be cast in the live-action reimagining with Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina already on board.

Harry Styles has been rumoured to play Prince Eric in the remake also, which is GREAT news.

Sources say that Disney is keen to cast someone with epic pipes to help bring the iconic soundtrack to life — and we all know our boy Harry has that in spades.

Of course, he also recently proved his acting chops too, in his debut role in the Oscar-winning Dunkirk.

The 25-year-old was recently also up to play Elvis Presley in a biopic, but narrowly missed out to (another hottie), Austin Butler from Carrie Diaries.
