In a time so volatile, we need to be doing our best to keep hygienic to ensure the spread of COVID-19 is halted. But the message hasn’t been heard by some young TikTok stars, who instead saw the pandemic as an opportunity to get views.

An influencer from California known as Larz and GayShawnMendez on Twitter, has contracted the highly contagious virus after participating in the viral challenge of licking a toilet seat.
“I tested positive for Coronavirus,” Larz wrote on Twitter and has since had his account suspended.
The Daily Mail obtained a video of Larz that he uploaded (before it got deleted) of him lying in a hospital bed.
“RT to spread awareness for the Coronavirus :),” Larz’s original video read, as he licked a toilet seat in a public bathroom.
The influencer contracted the virus in the days following.
The challenge popped up earlier this month when TikTok user Ava Louise filmed herself licking a toilet seat while on an airplane.
“Please RT this so people can know how to properly be sanitary on the airplane,” Louise wrote to her followers, including “coronavirus challenge.”
The video caused outrage online, with viewers claiming that not only could she get sick but she could infect others who could be at a high-risk.
“It’s sad that elderly will likely die, and people like this will live,” a person wrote and another added, “Nice way to get sick dummy. There is more than covid 19 on that toilet seat. She may want to invest in toilet paper for those horrible stomach bugs she just licked up.”
“I just want to say, this isn’t worth it. You don’t have to lick toilet seats for the Internet likes to feel good about yourself,” a user tweeted. “Ppl will like anything. It doesn’t define you or your worth. Don’t endanger yourself & others for the attention of strangers. Love yourself.”
“Someone seems a little desperate for attention,” another wrote.
Unfortunately, Louise loved the attention. She was re-tweeting stories about her, but she has said she “doesn’t care” because she’s “blonde, rich and skinny.”
“I can recover from anything cuz of hot girl privilege,” she added.
