The dark comedy has been renewed for a second season, which was confirmed earlier in the year, but no date had been set. Now Channel 4 can confirm that it will be returning to the telly on November 4.
The first season’s synopsis read: “Based on the award-winning graphic novel, adapted by acclaimed newcomer Charlie Covell, the eight episode first season follows James (Alex Lawther, Black Mirror) and Alyssa (Jessica Barden, Penny Dreadful) – a self-proclaimed psychopath and a foul-mouthed rebel fed-up with her boring life.
“The two embark on a roadtrip to find a better life, and escape the impending doom of adulthood. As their chaotic journey unfolds, it becomes apparent that James and Alyssa have crossed a line and have no choice but to take it as far as they can…”
Ian Katz the content boss from Channel 4 spoke to Digital Spy, saying that the new series will air on their station first and won’t land on Netflix – (in the UK) – for another year. We are not sure about Netflix Australia as of yet.
He said: “Next time we’ll run the whole series on the channel then there will be a conventional hold back of more than a year before people see it on Netflix. It really bugs me that people think that show is a Netflix show, I really want to reclaim ownership of it – it’s absolutely a Channel 4 show.”
We hope it hits Netflix asap!
