Selena Gomez made our LIVES when she rocked up at the Met Gala with her boo The Weeknd, literally ~glowing~ and looking happier than ever.
But how would you feel if you never saw her on another red carpet again? Or in the spotlight AT ALL?! We know, it actually even hurts to think about our girl disappearing from the public eye but turns out Sel actually wouldn’t mind.
The singer, actress and Queen of Instagram made the gut-wrenching confession in an inspiring post on the Humans of New York Insta account.
“I feel like I’m just starting, but I think I’d be fine if it all went away,” she wrote. “I get that from my mother. From the moment I started singing, she always reminded me that all of this was a privilege, and could be taken at any moment.”
“So singing is not how I define myself. I try to keep my identity rooted in my friendships and my faith.”
Whoa that’s deep. Of course we totally agree with he reasoning behind it but we can’t even imagine a world without Selena!
And this isn’t the first time she’s hinted at wanting to not be famous anymore. Speaking to Vogue in April Sel admitted: “Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am, but — how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.”
Nope. Can’t.
