It’s not what we expected at all, but we’re already obsessed.

Before the song came out, fans were speculating whether or not the song would be about her ex Justin Bieber, or her new flame, The Weeknd.

Well, it’s safe to say with how dead #Jelena is, it’s about Abel. But, there’s a bit of a twist which came as a surprise.

Rather than the song being about their romance now, it’s about falling for somebody who is already taken.

Sound familiar?

There is a certain passage that hints to the fact that Selena had a thing for The Weeknd while he was still dating Bella Hadid, and with all the drama that has surrounded the break-up and this epic love triangle, it makes a lot of sense.

The passage goes:

“I was walking down the street the other day

Trying to distract myself

Then I see your face

Ooo, you got someone else

Tryna play it coy

Tryna make it disappear

But just like the battle of Troy

There’s nothing subtle here.”

Ooooooft.

It’s pretty obvious that there is insane chemistry between Selena and Abel, and whether something began while he was still with Bella or not… well, one can only assume.
