Noah Cyrus has a pretty incredible life, but that doesn’t mean that everything is perfect.

The 18-year-old singer has opened up to L’Officiel USA, talking about her struggles with anxiety and depression, and how it will be explored in her EP.

“This EP is mostly just about how my emotions have been, and about my anxiety, and about how I’ve been struggling with depression, and how it’s okay to feel those feelings,” she said. “A lot of people like to judge you, and make fun of you on the Internet, and people make you feel crazy whenever you’re in a depression or having anxiety or having a panic attack. It’s about that and being sad and having your emotions and not being able to ignore the feelings you’re having.”

“This next series of my art and my music is going to be an exploration of a more ’emo’ side for sure,” she continued. “I think that probably stems from growing up with Trace Cyrus in my house because he was the king of emo.”

Trace Cyrus is her older brother, who happens to be the lead singer of Metro Station, which was pretty much the emo band of our time.

Just recently, Noah expressed on Instagram that she has been dealing with some heavy “sh*t” lately.

“For the past two years I’ve been going thru some really heavy mental sh*t. I meet someone and I’m happy. So we post a sh*t load cus we want people to see how happy we are… I have and always will be your sad emo noie. But right now this is the happiest sad emo noie due to this man right here.”
