It’s no secret that MAFS bride Vanessa Romito has struggled with self-confidence because of her debilitating acne… so for co-star Michael Goonan to make fun of it so publicly is shameful.
MAFS’ Vanessa Romito says she was bullied because of her acne
Reported by Get Real Entertainment Australia, it can be seen that the controversial groom commented on Vanessa’s Instagram after she married Chris Nicholls, making fun of her acne and the fact that she is currently not married.

“I love you babe but let’s fix your face then work out getting you a husband,” he wrote, adding laughing face emojis.

Thankfully, Vanessa isn’t letting the cruel comments get her down. Instead, she’s using it to help others, no matter how much the comment brought her down.
“What type of human would post a comment like that knowing what I have been through? How could someone be so arrogant. It really shows the character of the person,” she said to Get Real Entertainment.
“He obviously didn’t think about the repercussions. I have had to deal with these sorts of insensitive remarks since I was 11 years old. You have no idea how difficult that has been.”

“It brought back all those insecurities and the fear that Chris wasn’t attracted to me because Goonan was his best mate.
“I just want to tell Goonan that not everything is a joke and words actually matter and they hurt. If you can’t show respect to someone who’s been through what I have in my life you are no better than just a bully.”
Unfortunately for Vanessa, chronic acne isn’t the only thing she’s battled. At 21-years-old she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
“When I got the news I cried. I then just sat for a minute and thought what now? Will I ever have kids?,” she said.

After her diagnosis, Vanessa got an allergy test which saw her allergic to 53 food items!
She was allergic to things like carrots, peas, spinach, grapefruit, wheat, gluten to dairy.
Vanessa now wants to turn her attention to helping and educating others through a new website www.rawness.com.au.
“It makes life difficult especially if I want to go out and eat. But I’m keeping positive and if I can do something to help people heal from the inside out I’ll be very happy.”
