Look, it’s safe to say that Lionel Richie and Justin Bieber have talent. Both are iconic musicians in their own right… but Bieber broke Lionel’s daughter, Sofia Richie’s heart. So, we aren’t surprised that Lionel is coming for him.
As a judge on American Idol, Lionel spoke to Us Weekly about eliminating contestants. “You know, you look at it and you think, ‘OK, if you can hit every note perfectly, why isn’t everybody a superstar?’ The answer is because it’s called a unique quality. If you look at Willie Nelson for a second, can he hit a gospel note? Um, no! And [Justin] Bieber, he doesn’t hit a high note…”
Burn.
The thing is… Justin definitely has hit high notes before. And before Lionel could trash Bieber any further, fellow judge Katy Perry came to his defence. “He hits a high note!” she exclaimed.
“I mean, he’s extremely talented!”
She’s not wrong!
