Over the weekend, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart tweeted that she had found her Halloween look: a photo of somebody dressed as a black demon.
She quickly had to delete the post after people got offended, accusing her of “blackface.”
She even apologised profusely for being “racially insensitive.”
Some fans were really not impressed with her apology either.
However after all this drama went down, other fans jumped on to defend Lili, saying that the haters were completely misguided.
Prompting people to even call out the initial haters for thinking that someone dressed as a demon instantly means that they’re black. Oh boy.
“Blackface?!? So YA’LL you looked at this and instantly thought of black people???…Oh,” one fan pointed out.
“You guys accusing Lili Reinhart of blackface because she’s all black as a demon for Halloween is more racist than your accusation,” wrote another.
And that’s that.
