Global pandemics, babies…there are a few things in life that inspire people to put past feuds behind them and extend the olive branch.
And that’s exactly what Liam Payne has done, becoming the first One Direction member to publicly congratulate Zayn Malik on his baby news.
The 26-year-old took to an Instagram live to share a message with his ex bandmate.
Speaking to his fans, Liam said: ‘Also this week, didn’t really wanna leave it out, wanted to make sure I said something on my own place before I started getting asked about it relentlessly by everybody. I just wanted to say congratulations to Zayn and Gigi obviously, you know, they’re having a baby.’
It was a short but sweet message, but one that proved that there’s likely no bad blood between the pair.
It comes amidst news that Zayn is expecting a baby girl with his supermodel bae Gigi Hadid.
After it was leaked to media, Gigi officially confirmed the exciting baby news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “Thank you so much,” Gigi said when Jimmy congratulated her on the pregnancy. “Obviously we wish we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.”
We don’t know yet whether any of those well-wishers have included any of Zayn’s other 1D bandmates.
Either way, it’s probably safe to say that Zayn will be even less likely to be part of the rumoured 1D reunion now that he’s got a baby on the way.
We’ll settle for adorable photos of their genetically blessed child instead though, we guess!
