There is currently a HUGE twitter war going on between Kim Kardashian, Rhymefest, and the charity Donda’s House…
It all began when Pusha T (a member of Kanye’s label GOOD Music), released his latest diss track against Drake, called “Infrared”.
“It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin / At the mercy of a game where the culture’s missing,” he rapped. It’s a reference to Quentin Miller, who is a rumoured ghostwriter for Drake.
Drake obviously hit back, dropping his own diss track “Duppy Freestyle”, along with a $100,000 invoice for the “promotional assistance and career reviving” he provided with the song. Ouch.
“Tell ‘Ye we got a invoice coming to you / Considering that we just sold another 20 for you,” the song concludes. He actually went ahead and sent the invoice too.
He goes on in the song to explain how he helped Kanye write various songs for The Life of Pablo, so they shouldn’t be mentioning the fact that he may have his own ghost writer.
So how does Kim tie in? Well, the invoice prompted Che “Rhymefest” Smith (co-founder of Donda’s House – the charity named after Kanye’s late mother) to ask for funding to help as it had been forgotten by Kanye.
Kim obviously wasn’t here for her husbands name to be dragged through the dirt, especially in regards to his dead mother.
People were really pissed off that Kim was attacking Rhymefest on such a personal level.
“rhymefest: kanye pls help us run the foundation named after ur late mother and help the younth of chicago. kim kardashian: haha ur yeezys are fake lol,” one person wrote.
“She’s right, a lot of people probably don’t know who Rhymefest is. So FWIW Rhymefest is the guy who wrote ‘Jesus Walks’,” wrote someone else.
“This is a f*cking read. @KimKardashian grow up, both you and your husband. You’re a 36 year old woman still trying to clown people on twitter and play ‘sorry who are you?’ Never forget you were once the receiving end of that joke, ms Paris Hilton’s housemaid.”
Yikes. Harsh.
After Kim’s epic rant, Rhymefest responded with a respectful letter addressing her points.
He also put out a statement claiming that they would change the name of the charity.
WHAT.A.MESS.
