This may come as a surprise to you but Kendall Jenner has been accused of cultural appropriation.
Who are we kidding, that’s not surprising at all.
When it comes to the Kar-Jenner klan, being accused of cultural appropriation is something that they’ve become quite accustomed to. However, that doesn’t make it okay, and it hasn’t stopped people online from calling them out for it.
Most recently, the backlash came from Kendall Jenner wearing cornrows.

Right now the supermodel is on vacation with Hailey Baldwin and Justine Skye in Jamaica. She’s been very busy taking private jets, sunbaking and reading… and like most tourists, getting her hair braided.
Once her hairstyle was shown off online, the hate rolled in.
“how come no ones talking about how kendall jenner’s hair was literally in cornrows the other night,” one fan wrote.
“i hope her hair f*cking falls out,” wrote another.
Around this time last year, sister Kim Kardashian came under similar fire, when she wore her hair in braids at the 2018 MTV Awards.
This traditional hairstyle is native to African American people, who have in the past called Kim out for doing this exact same thing.
When Kim previously wore her hair like this, she called out Bo Derek’s iconic look as inspo, writing, “Bo West”.
Followers quickly called her out, because before Derek wore Fulani braids for her 1979 film debut in 10, black women had been wearing their hair in that style for many generations.
“You and your sisters make it a habit to appropriate and accessorise blackness while simultaneously working overtime to erase the very black women you spend a fortune trying to emulate,” Monique Judge wrote at The Grapevine.
Kim responded to the hate at the time by posting another image of herself with the hair, writing, “Hi, can I get zero f-s please, thanks.”
Derek defended Kim at the time, tweeting, “It’s just a hairstyle”.
As for Kendall, she has yet to respond to the backlash… and we don’t expect she will.
