So far, Taylor Swift’s new tunes have been Joe Alwyn, Kim Kardashian/Kanye West and Katy Perry related, but fans are convinced that another chapter in Tay’s life is the inspo for one of the songs on Reputation.
Yesterday after the album’s tracklist leaked, Taylor herself uploaded the official tracklist and let us tell you, there are some juicy ones!
Just like “Look What You Made Me Do”, the song titles sound shady AF!
Tracks like “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things”, “Don’t Blame Me” and “I Did Something Bad” are bound to be about her famous feuds.
Then you’ve got all the loved up tracks like “Dancing With Our Hands Tied”, “King Of My Heart” and “Delicate” that are probz about any one of her baes from the past few years including Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston and, of course, Joe.
And a new fan theory has linked the fifteenth and final track “New Year’s Day” with Taylor’s ex Harry Styles.
According to Cosmopolitan, “New Year’s Day” may be a reference to #Haylor’s ~rumoured~ breakup during the 2012 holiday season.
The pair rang in the New Year together in the British Virgin Islands then Tay was spotted leaving the trip early via a sombre boat trip.
At the time, a source told Daily Mail that “they were on holiday and had an almighty row,” which resulted in their breakup.
So could “New Year’s Day” be Taylor’s way of spilling what really went down?
To put things into perspective, there have literally been five New Year’s eves since then and Taylor has addressed the whole Haylor sitch on previous albums with songs like “Style” and “I Knew You Were Trouble”, so would she really be writing about him now when she has SO much to address (from Kimye to Joe)?
Also, if recent reports are true, Haylor was a f-a-k-e relationship to begin with (soz to break it to the Haylor shippers, we know it hurts!), so we doubt Tay would be putting any more artistic energy into writing about him!
It certainly is an interesting theory, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until we hear the full album to know for sure.
