UPDATE: Well, it looks like the boys of 5SOS heard us loud and clear. Their Sydney show has been updated to all ages, NOT just under 18s!!!!!!!!!
None other than InStereo’s Jakob Delgado and Chris Lanzon (who are big fans of the band as well) tipped us off today to let us know that the venue has been updated on Live Nation.
So, if you were under 18 and completely devo about missing out, then DW, you can now make it!
As for Melbourne, it is still under 18. So, maybe we need another letter.
Dear Ashton, Luke, Calum and Mikey,
We love you. Like reaallllllly love you. We have loved you since forevs. And we’ve been waiting 5ever for this day to come!!! The day you bless us with new music.
And we have to say your new track “Want You Back” is a certified banger. It’s been on repeat at GF HQ since 11am and we do not intend to stop any time soon.
When we saw that you’re coming on tour as well and SO DAMN SOON we literally screamed. We’ve been there for all your other Sydney shows so we know no one else can show us a better time.
Then our hearts broke because your Australian concerts are for over 18 fans only. And we know you guys have grown up since you started, and for sure a bunch of your fans are over 18 now…
BUT THERE ARE SO MANY OF US WHO AREN’T 18 YET. AND WE DESPERATELY WANT TO SEE YOU.
We’re the fans who make streaming playlists that are basically your latest track 99 times just so we can get your YouTube and Spotify numbers up.
We’re the fans who call and @ radio stations requesting your songs.
We’re the ones who have you on notifications and watch, like, comment and share every single post you guys pop up on your socials.
We’re the fans who will line up for 8 hours so we can get barrier and scream and sing and worship you right up close.
We’re the fans who work really crappy weekend jobs so we’ve got $$$ to spend on your merch.
We’re the fans who pour love into our 5SOS fan accounts to support you and spread the word about how incredibly talented you are and how amazing your music is.
Please don’t forget us. Listen to your old mate Harry Styles when he released his solo album and told Rolling Stone mag,
“Who’s to say that young girls who like pop music – short for popular, right? – have worse musical taste than a 30-year-old hipster guy? That’s not up to you to say. Music is something that’s always changing. There’s no goal posts. Young girls like the Beatles. You gonna tell me they’re not serious? How can you say young girls don’t get it? They’re our future. Our future doctors, lawyers, mothers, presidents, they kind of keep the world going. Teenage-girl fans – they don’t lie. If they like you, they’re there. They don’t act ‘too cool.’ They like you, and they tell you. Which is sick.”
Please please please please please please please please add under 18s shows to Sydney and Melbourne.
We guarantee we’ll make them sell out in seconds. And we’ll be there front and centre screaming how much we love you.
All our love,
Team GF and your Aussie teen fans.
