Dylan O’Brien Called Us And We Freaked The Hell Out

We talked all things Maze Runner… and his butt!

There are few men in the world as gorgeous as our favourite Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien. Here at GF HQ we stan him hard and may or may not have pictures of him stuck all over the printer (the brand is Dylan – what choice did we have?). You gotta admit he is a snacc and a half.

.

Ultimate babe Dylan is out and about promoting the third and final Maze Runner film aka Maze Runner: The Death Cure, and we scored a phone interview with the man himself.

.

So here’s the thing, when we usually interview celebs on the phone, their publicist calls and connects you to the star. That’s happened every single time we’ve ever interviewed a celeb. So you can imagine our shock when the phone rang and Dylan himself had was on the other end!!!

He said, “I decided to go rogue, dial your number and call you myself.”

Once we regained consciousness we had a good old chat.

GF: You wrapped the film 2 years ago so it must be so exciting to finally have it out there for the world to see?

Dylan: “This is the icing on the cake, especially the last one. The fans have been such a big part of our journey. We’ve always had such a passionate and supportive fanbase and they are so much the reason why we’re still existing, you know. Our continuance after the first film was entirely based o their support, it wasn’t already guaranteed that we’d get to do a franchise. So it is amazing to share it with them one last time and thank them and cross our fingers that you all like it.

“It was funny, we sat in on a screening last night and watch it with the audience. It’s always fun to do that if you can. It was funny though, it was a really, really quiet audience and we were cracking up and joking that they hated it – but nah they didn’t.”

(Um, Dylan they were probably stunned into silence by your beauty)

.

GF: Doing a franchise is different to a stand-alone film because you spend so much more time with the cast, was it like a fam reunion doing press for this?

Dylan: “Yeah, it’s weird though because my god, in some ways it feels like just yesterday that we wrapped the film but it always is like a reunion. Whenever we all get back together for something Maze Runner, whether we’re going to shoot another one or rounding up for the press tour, it’s such a fun reunion getting everyone back together again. And that’s what we’re going to miss because we’re not going to have that anymore. It’s the last time this is all going to happen.”

GF: Did you and the cast do anything to commemorate the end of the franchise like tattoos or a wild party?

Dylan: “No! We should’ve got tattoos on our butts or something. That would’ve been so funny all of our faces on each others asses.”

.

GF: Or maybe you could get tattoos that look as though you’ve carved your names like in the film (*not really a spoiler – you’ll get it when you see it*).

Dylan: “Oh my god yeah! That would’ve been so dope! That’s a really good idea. Thanks for that. But yeah we didn’t do anything like that, aside from our own way of constantly commemorating it. I feel like the entire time we were out there filming this one it was a celebration, it was a reunion, it was a last hurrah. That was always the energy. We soaked up every day on that last film. We were all very aware of how much it meant to us and how much we were going to miss it, once and when it was all over.”

GF: The world knows you had quite a bad accident making this film, it must’ve been hard for you to watch that scene.

Dylan: “Yeah it was difficult, which is a massive understatement. I think what’s important here is that I finished the film and I’m incredibly proud that I did and it means all that much more to me now. We’ve really been through the trenches together – all of us. It’s a really momentous thing having it finally out.”

GF: You’ve wrapped up Teen Wolf and the Maze Runner films. Does it feel like the end of an era for you?

Dylan: “Yeah! Obviously I’m going to miss Teen Wolf and Maze Runner dearly, I’m in that headspace right now. I’m sort of just mourning them. Well not mourning them, but saying goodbye to them. I’m also always smiling about them, I’m so grateful. I can’t believe how long the show lasted and I can’t believe I got to film three of the Maze Runner movies and that fans came and liked both of them. I’m just the luckiest person. I can’t wait to continue and pursue acting and see what’s down the road for me.”

Maze Runner: The Death Cure is in cinemas now. If need another reason to see it, well we’re just going to leave this here:
