Demi Lovato rang in the new year in the most traditional way: by kissing somebody.
Not that strange, right?
Well, some fans have taken offence to her New Years Eve kiss, because they think she was just looking for attention.
Demi performed at the Fontainebleau Miami for the occasion, and as it hit midnight, Demi turned to her backup dancer Jojo Gomez and kissed her on stage.
She shared the photos on her Instagram, writing, “Last performance of 2017 and first kiss of 2018.”
Jojo shared the same pic and sentiments.
While Demi has previously opened up about her sexuality, some fans have called her out for the kiss.
“Looking for attention as always,” as one Twitter user claimed, while another wrote, “She’s so desperate for attention.”
Thankfully, some fans came to Demi’s defence.
“Don’t make a big deal of Demi’s and JoJo’s kiss now, we left delusional ships in 2017. I kissed my best friend too, so what? 
Yes I love seeing them together but there is obviously nothing more than just a New Year’s kiss,” wrote a fan.
